The final of the Giro Jasna Adrenalin was held in perfect weather on the 2nd of April. The snow conditions were quite far from perfect, though. During the past few days the the temperatures had been high, but last night they dropped below freezing, and the nice spring snow that Jasna had enjoyed previously changed completely. This morning the snow was in many places, including the venue at the Chopok mountain, rock solid. The start, which was scheduled to be at 09:30, was delayed until 10:30, in order for the sun to do it´s thing on the snow. After a little wait, the conditions got somewhat better, but even still they were far from perfect.

The riders did their best in somewhat dubious conditions and many of them show skill and determination in their descents. For many of the spectators, as well as the judges, the run by Austrian Eva Walker was one of the highligts of the day. Eva´s run was strong and solid, and she put the face into a good use. She skied fast and made five jumps, a few of which were of good size, and she stomped them all.

There was also some close calls. Couple of the skiers lost their skies, and it was hard for them to stop themselves sliding down on boilerplate snow. Luckily, all of the incidents were only bit scary and no-one got injured.

The original plan for the day included a semifinal and a final run, but once the semis were done, organizers, judges and riders got together for a meeting, and after some talking and thinking the final was canceled, and the results of the semi stood as final result for the event.

Despite unfavorable snow conditions Giro Jasna Adrenalin was a big success and in the end of the day everybody had big smiles on their faces.

The organizers thank everybody involved in the event, and wish all the riders welcome for the next edition of the event in 2010, hopefully with better snow conditions.
