D-5 until the kick-off of the YETI Freeride Junior World Championships Kappl by Dynastar

The YETI Freeride Junior World Championships (FJWC) Kappl by Dynastar is about to go down. The January 20-25 competition window kicks off in five days. This competition is a vital step in the FWT Pyramid, giving young athletes a chance to make a name for themselves, while providing a steady stream of talented freeriders to the higher levels of the sport. Competition returns to the Tyrolean Alps in Austria, where riders will be treated to the immense powder fields of Kappl, providing the perfect canvas for freeride action.

The top-ranked athletes from regions 1 and 2 will show down on the same face, with 11 nationalities represented in this highly skilled field. Some of the highlights from each category include:

  • The ski men’s category has a total of 31 riders, containing some of the most promising up-and-coming athletes in the sport
  • 13 riders make up the ski women’s category, bringing a sweet mix of freeride expertise and freestyle skills
  • The snowboard men’s category is also comprised of 13 riders, including Kea Chretien, the 2023 YETI FJWC by Dynastar champion
  • The snowboard women’s category features 10 riders, with Lila Yeoman back to defend her title after an impressive win here last year
