New Zealand Junior Freeride Tour 2018

The New Zealand Junior Freeride Tour has been set up to provide our junior athletes with the opportunity to compete in professionally run freeride competitions in New Zealand. The focus is on fun, participation and safety along with promoting the incredible sport that is freeriding. We are proud to announce that for the first time ever there will be a under 14 Junior category crowing the national champions!

It is a sanctioned Freeride Junior Tour event and we are delighted to be running a tour of three events in one season!

The athletes with the most points in each category after the completion of the tour will be crowned the Overall NZJFT champions (max. of 3 results).

As past years the NZJFT will again award invitations to the 2018 JFT World Championship to the stand out skiers and boarders in the 14 – 18 age category (potential for both boys and girls). Last year Finn Duffy, Alistair Garland and Matt Sweet were selected for the NZ junior freeride team. They back up the team’s performance from the year before, again showing the kiwis are a nation to be reckoned with. Finn Duffy was crowned overall European snowboard junior champion, making it two years in a row that a kiwi has taken out an overall title.
