My effort for the planet :
Environmental sustainability is no doubt the big challenge for our generation and for those to come. It is our time, our chance to start changing our mindsets.
If we don`t do it now, things will never change.
Especially in these times of basic economic and social overthrowings we must not lose sight of what is most important, to sustain the environment we live in.
In my opinion, it is most important to be in a certain state of mind, no matter where and when. Even though I am aware of the fact that freeskiing is a highly polluting activity, I try to keep it as "green" as possible. Be it sharing cars, avoiding skiing in environmentally sensitive areas, skinning instead of sledding: It all makes a little difference.
It is all about getting to the point where you experience that you really are free to make your own choices.
To me personally, that turning point was when I made the choice to live vegetarian. If everybody is aware of that fact, then democracy in its basic sense can work: The sum of little choices and actions in all aspects of peoples` lives will finally result in global changes.
