VERBIER FREERIDE WEEK BY DYNASTAR IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER
The Freeride World Qualifers are heading back to Verbier for another dedicated Freeride Week this January!
Anticipation levels for the 2020 FWQ and FJT competition seasons could not be higher as heavy snowfalls continue to pound the western Alps. The conditions are looking to be perfect for the 2020 Verbier Freeride Week presented by Dynastar.
The 2020 Verbier Freeride Week by Dynastar will take place from January 11-19, the legendary resort is expected to host emerging riders from more than 23 nations across the globe, including Portugal, New Zealand, Romania, and Sweden.
Like last year, the line-up will feature a diverse group of extremely talented riders made up of future freeride stars and point hunting FWQ athletes, all hoping for a good result at the home of the FWT. Freeride Junior World Champion (FJWC) Maxime Chabloz (SUI) will be looking to start his first FWQ campaign with a win. Verbier locals, Mathieu Gschwandtner (AUT) and FJWC runner-up, Paul Dentan are also confirmed to compete.
A FWQ 1* will kick off the week and will be a prime opportunity for rookie competitors to collect early season points and climb the rankings to the next level of 2* comps.
For juniors there will be a U-14 competition followed by a junior 2* (U-16 and U-18) on January 18-19.
In addition to the competitions, a plethora of programs and activities will be on offer for spectators and riders throughout the event weather window. These will include a ski test on January 11-12, yoga and freeride guiding with former FWT athlete Emilien Badoux (SUI), and a riders lounge at Pub Mont Fort showing the best action from the day and much more.
