25 YEARS OF THE VERBIER XTREME

For 25 years the Verbier Xtreme has been at the peak of competitive Freeride skiing and snowboarding.

Even though the 25th Verbier Xtreme was not held this year, it hasn't stopped us from celebrating the competition's 25th birthday! For the occasion Redbull Snow have dug deep through the archives and put together a film about the history of the competition and the effect that it had on the sport and its culture! Check it out:

From the first event in 1996, the Verbier Xtreme has inspired a generation of skiers from around the globe to work for a chance to compete on the legendary face. The competition spawned the Freeride World Tour, the Freeride World Qualifiers and Freeride Junior Tour creating an international wave of competitive freeriding.

25 years later, the Verbier Xtreme remains the beating heart of competitive freeriding and the Grande Finale of the Freeride World Tour.

Here's to another 25 years of the Verbier Xtreme!

In case you missed it, with Xavier De Le Rue, Jérémie Heitz and many others the FWT celebrated the 25th anniversary in style! Check it out here.
