Alpina Watches, SunGod and Black Diamond renew their support of freeriding by boosting their official sponsorship of the Freeride World Tour.

Good news coming out of the FWT camp this week with Alpina Watches, SunGod and Black Diamond all strengthening their partnerships. Sharing the same values and passion for freeriding and adventure, these brands have decided to renew their support of the sport and the pinnacle of competition freeriding, the FWT.

Despite the global situation caused by COVID-19, all the brands have increased their participation in various forms – ensuring further growth of the sport in the coming years.

“The Freeride World Tour is particularly happy and proud to renew its partnerships with Alpina Watches, SunGod and Black Diamond for the seasons to come. Our values are similar, our visions are aligned, and our long-term collaborations reflect this.”  - Nicolas Hale-Woods, CEO Freeride World Tour

The collaboration between Alpina Watches and the FWT has seen this iconic watch brand evolve their collection in the mountains, helping freeriders fine-tune their skills. An official partner since 2018, Alpina will not only extend their support for an extra year but ramp it up by directly sponsoring three FWT athletes: Victor De Le Rue (FRA), Markus Eder (ITA) and Juliette Willmann (FRA)

“We are delighted to renew this partnership with the Freeride World Tour for an extra year and we are very excited to build a powerful, long-term collaboration. We are proud to count Juliette Willmann, Victor De Le Rue and Markus Eder within our Alpinists team. Their passion and determination perfectly align with Alpina Watches’ spirit, and we are looking forward to seeing them in action, riding those steep lines! We also wish all the riders and participants of the Freeride World Tour a magnificent season!" — Oliver Van Lanschot Hubrecht, Alpina Watches Brand Director.

Both with goggles and sunglasses, SunGod has been protecting FWT athletes from the harsh mountain sun since 2018. And with the announcement of their continued partnership through 2023, athletes and the FWT are thrilled. Furthermore, they directly sponsor two FWT athletes: Carl Renvall (SUI) and Michaela Davis-Meehan (AUS), are an official sponsor of Verbier, and will continue to sponsor the Verbier Freeride Week where their flagship HQ is based.

“We are stoked to be continuing our partnership with the FWT as the Official Eyewear Partner for the fourth consecutive year! It is exciting to be working alongside the FWT to celebrate the best that freeriding has to offer.” — Zoë Watkiss, SunGod Co-founder

For an event like the FWT, safety gear is crucial. That’s why having a safety partner is essential to equip all the guides and athletes with premium safety equipment. Black Diamond has met this demand since 2019 and will continue their official partnership and supply of the FWT until 2024. This year they have also stepped up their support and will supply safety kits and other co-branded products for all the riders and guides.

“At Black Diamond Equipment, we are excited to continue the partnership with the Freeride World Tour for the 2021 season. With a brand new format and some of the best competitors in the world, including BD’s own Victor De Le Rue and last year’s winner Isaac Freeland, we are counting down the days until the Tour begins!” — Black Diamond
