NZ winter is in full swing and we're stoked to announce that the dates for the Freeride competitions have been locked in!
A fantastic opportunity to start putting points on the board for the 2021 season while enjoying an unforgettable experience in the Southern Alps!
FREERIDE WORLD QUALIFIER
During crazy times in the world, we are very pleased to announce that The Remarkables Ski Resort will host the only Freeride World Qualifier held in NZ for the 2020 winter.
It has been proven over the years that the NZ Freeride events are a huge kickstart for any athlete wanting to gain qualification onto the pro tour. This is your chance to compete against not only some of the best kiwis but also multiple FWT athletes in nearly all disciplines.
Come and join the incredible community of NZ Freeriding and put yourself against some of the best athletes on the planet!
We would like to pass on a HUGE kudos to Dion Newport, one of the FWT judges & NZJFT director, who went above and beyond to make both the FWQ and FJT events happen. With all the uncertainty surrounding the current situation and following the disappointing news of the North Face Frontier being cancelled, Dion deserves some recognition for ensuring that NZ riders would get the chance to compete this season.

FREERIDE JUNIOR TOUR
Our first stop for the Freeride Junior Tour event will be at The Remarkables; a longstanding competitive freeriding hub for kiwis, with decades of events being hosted here it is the obvious choice for a 3-star event. With the venue options and good line choices here it’s a must-stop on the NZJFT.
The next stop takes the Freeride Junior Tour to Mt Olympus with not one but 2 events held there; a unique resort, a trip back in time to simple days in the mountains. A narrow bulldozer cleared road leads you to a container where you pick up your harness to be able to ride the lift system.
