The 2025 Toyo Tires Arai Junior 3*, organized by FWT Japan, brought together the best junior freeriders to the stunning slopes of Arai Mountain Resort. Known for its deep powder, the mountain presented a new challenge this time with hard-packed snow, requiring riders to adapt quickly. Under bright skies and high expectations, the athletes demonstrated resilience and skill, thrilling the enthusiastic spectators.
The level of performance continues to climb each year, proving that these young riders are already displaying the talent and ambition seen in top freeride athletes.
In a highly competitive Ski Men U-16 division, Japan’s Sena Fujii claimed the top spot with a well-executed run that impressed the judges. Coming in second, Shun Washio showed strong technique and consistency, while Ryoma Tada rounded out the podium in third place with a determined approach down the mountain.
Sayuki Aida delivered a standout performance to secure first place in the Snowboard Women U-18 category. Her younger sister, Kiaya Aida, came in second, displaying great control in the changing conditions. Kizuna Takahashi earned third place, showcasing skill and style in her descent.
Yamato Sato delivered a commanding run to win the Snowboard Men U-18 category. Ichinoshin Maruyama put up a strong effort to claim second, while Taketo Kinoshita’s solid performance earned him third place in a stacked field of competitors.
Australia’s Finn Jacobsen took the win in the Ski Men U-18 division, adapting well to the tough conditions. Rennosuke Takeuchi finished in a close second, while Rentaro Kunimoto demonstrated impressive riding to round out the podium in third.
In the Snowboard Women U-14 category, Juna Yamada rode her way to first place with a confident display of skill. Hirano Mia secured second, while Yua Urushiyama’s solid effort earned her third place.
Sora Tezuka took charge in the Snowboard Men U-14 division, emerging as the winner. Haruto Kume put in a strong run to secure second place, while Ousuke Miyashita’s determined ride earned him third.
Nao Makita claimed first place in the Ski Women U-14 category with an impressive run. Alice Anderson followed closely in second, while Saya Fujii rounded out the podium in third.
Canada’s Lachlan Simmons secured victory in the Ski Men U-14 division, handling the conditions with confidence. Liam Simmons also had a strong showing, taking second place, while Japan’s Jin Mashimo claimed third with a promising performance.
This year’s Toyo Tires Arai Junior 3* proved that the next generation of freeriders is stronger than ever. As participation grows, so does the level of competition, elevating the sport to new heights.
