The future of freeride has a home in Kappl.

We’re proud to announce that the YETI FIS Freeride Junior World Championships will remain in Kappl through 2032, following a new five-year contract extension.

Since 2018, Kappl has welcomed the world’s best young freeriders aged 14 to 18, offering them the opportunity to compete on a world-class face in one of the most stunning and authentic freeride destinations in the Alps.

And the 2026 edition once again showed exactly why this partnership matters.

With 67 athletes from 13 countries, the event highlighted the momentum of the junior circuit and the growing international depth of the sport. More than a competition, it is a platform to pass on the values that define freeride: safety through education and role models, performance on world-class terrain, responsibility toward the future of the sport, inclusivity across genders and nationalities, and, always, the pure fun that drives it all.

Kappl offers far more than a venue. It provides a true stage for the sport’s rising talents, combining demanding terrain, breathtaking alpine scenery, passionate local support, and an atmosphere that makes the event both special and memorable.

This long-term extension reflects a shared ambition: to keep building a premium platform for young athletes, to strengthen the pathway to the highest level of freeride, and to continue growing one of the most important events on the junior calendar.

A big thank you to Kappl for the trust, the vision, and the long-term commitment.

Here’s to many more years of celebrating the future of freeride together in Kappl.
