Set to take place from February 1–6, 2026, in the technical terrain of Ordino Arcalís, Andorra, the event marks the inaugural edition of the FIS Freeride World Championships, a new pinnacle in the sport sanctioned by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS). This single-event championship will officially crown the FIS Freeride World Champions in freeride skiing and snowboarding.
Mammut brings mountain safety and performance apparel to the forefront
As the official Safety and Clothing Partner, Mammut will equip all staff and riders with both technical outerwear and essential safety gear, ensuring maximum protection and performance in the world’s most demanding freeride conditions.
This includes avalanche transceivers, shovels, probes, airbags, technical backpacks, and high-performance mountain clothing designed for durability, comfort, and safety in extreme environments.
This collaboration reflects the shared goal of Mammut and the FWT to elevate safety standards while also enhancing the professional image and functionality of freeride athletes on and off the mountain.
Several Mammut-supported athletes will be competing in Andorra, further highlighting the brand’s deep roots in the freeride community. Among them are Astrid Cheylus (FRA), Justine Dufour-Lapointe (CAN), Cesar Barin (FRA) and Oscar Mandin (FRA), all equipped with Mammut backpacks and safety equipment.
These athletes will showcase not only world-class freeriding, but also Mammut’s dedication to performance and innovation.
This partnership sets a strong foundation for the launch of the FIS Freeride World Championships, combining elite athleticism with a steadfast focus on safety, technical apparel and mountain culture.
