FIS Freeride World Championships Andorra 2026 by Mammut
From February 1–6, 2026, the legendary terrain of Ordino Arcalís, Andorra, will host the first-ever FIS Freeride World Championships, a historic milestone for the sport of freeride skiing and snowboarding. Sanctioned by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), this new championship represents the highest level of freeride competition on the global stage.

Andorra 2026
In February 2026, the first edition of the FIS Freeride World Championships will take place in Ordino Arcalís, Andorra.
Known for its challenging freeride terrain in the Pyrenees, Ordino Arcalís has a storied history as a premier destination for freeride skiing and snowboarding. Over a six-day weather window from February 1–6, 2026, the competition day will be chosen to ensure optimal conditions for fair and safe performances.
Sixty-Six of the world’s top athletes will compete across four categories: Snowboard Women, Ski Women, Snowboard Men and Ski Men.
Each competitor will have one run to claim the prestigious title of World Champion.

Qualification system
Athletes qualify through competitions from May 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025, via five pathways: FWT Pro Rankings, Continental and NSA Quotas, Wildcards, and a Host Nation Wildcard. Rankings on the Global Seeding List determine eligibility, with nations limited to 12 athletes total and 3 per category. Full details below.
