Michael Mawn withdraws from FIS Freeride World Tour 2026 by Peak Performance; Rémi Benamo to step in
Quick access
Due to personal reasons, Michael Mawn (USA) has withdrawn from the 2026 Freeride World Tour by Peak Performance. Mawn’s place will be taken by Rémi Benamo (SUI), the first non-qualified rider on the official list. 2025 marks Benamo’s first season on the Tour, where he quickly impressed with strong riding and a standout second-place finish in Val Thorens. Although he narrowly missed the Cut in the latter half of the season, he now returns to the roster, ready to take on the world’s most iconic freeride venues with renewed determination.
The entire FWT community sends its heartfelt support and best wishes to Michael Mawn and looks forward to seeing him back on snow soon.
This unexpected wildcard for the 2026 season is a big surprise, and I’m incredibly excited and motivated to be back on the Tour. I’m looking forward to an epic season ahead, it’s going to be amazing.
