Max Hitzig's FWT story started before his rookie season. Handed an event wildcard in Fieberbrunn in 2022, the German won the entire competition. Two years later, he became World Champion after a season that included victories in Kicking Horse and Verbier.
Raised on the steep terrain of Montafon, early close calls with avalanches taught Hitzig a respect for the mountains that has stayed with him throughout his career. His skiing combines freestyle amplitude with a direct, committed approach to big terrain.
The 24-year-old describes himself as incapable of sitting still. That restless drive is unmistakable in his riding. Once he commits to a line, hesitation is not part of the equation.

2024 FWT champion
Max Hitzig delivered a full-throttle line to take second spot at the 2024 YETI Xtreme Verbier, which was enough to claim the FWT Championship Title! He found a spicy entrance to the central couloir, skiing with zero hesitation and linking two big cliffs before spinning a clean 360 and another cliff to finish.
