The fwt challenger series hits the halfway mark at kitzsteinhorn
After more than a decade hosting Freeride World Tour Qualifier competitions, the X OVER RIDE Kitzsteinhorn returns in 2026 for its third FWT Challenger edition. Set high above the town of Kaprun in the Zell am See-Kaprun region, the Kitzsteinhorn glacier rises to over 3,000 meters and offers one of Austria’s most reliable high-alpine freeride arenas. Known for its steep faces, natural features, and expansive powder terrain, the resort provides the perfect stage for the next generation of freeride athletes to push their limits.

FWT CHALLENGER RANKINGS
Only the top four male, two female skiers, and two male and one female snowboarder in each region, will be crowned FWT Challenger Champion and qualify for the FWT Pro.
About the FWT Challenger
The FWT Challenger by Orage series is divided into two regions: Region 1, comprising Europe, Asia, and Oceania, and Region 2, encompassing North and South America. Riders compete against each other within their respective regions in the FWT Qualifier, with the top spots securing a place in the FWT Challenger series, the last step before qualifying for the FWT. This system brings out the best in riders from around the globe, and ensures they all get a chance at qualification.
