about
Joey Leonardo grew up in Edwards, Colorado, skiing at Arrowhead from day one — a lifelong connection to the mountains. After winning the Junior World Championships in 2020 and qualifying through the IFSA Challenger Series in 2025, he stepped onto the Freeride World Tour ready to make his mark.
Leonardo quickly stood out with an aggressive approach to competition, charging big lines and embracing risk. That strategy paid off, most notably in Val Thorens, where he secured an impressive second-place finish. He closed the season ranked ninth overall, earning his spot on the 2027 Freeride World Tour.
We’re excited to see what he brings next season!
The biggest challenge I faced in my early freeride career was getting over the fear of going bigger and pushing myself to ski to the best of my abilities… this coming winter is going to be the biggest step up and test of my career yet. I’m so excited.
