5th Stop of the 2026 FWT Challenger by Orage Delivers High-Stakes Action in Monterosa

The race for 2027 Freeride World Tour qualification reached a boiling point in Italy as the 2026 FWT Challenger by Orage landed in Monterosa Freeride Paradise for the fifth stop of the season. With just one event remaining, riders put everything on the line to qualify for the 2027 Freeride World Tour

A Decisive Day in the Challenger Race

With Monterosa marking the penultimate stop, the pressure was undeniable. Riders knew that strong results here could make or break their season, as only the best four results count toward qualification.

Snowboard Men: Kealan Venning Secures the Win and a Historic FWT Ticket

The Snowboard Men opened the day with explosive riding, quickly showcasing the quality of the field.

Early standout performances from Pol Sabidó Juvé (86.00 Points) and Arvid Gustavsson (83.00 Points) set a high benchmark with technical lines and clean executions. But it was Ireland’s Kealan Venning (88.33 Points) who delivered the most complete run of the day.

That score not only secured the victory but also clinched his qualification for the 2027 Freeride World Tour, marking a historic moment for Irish freeriding.

Snowboard Women: Tiphanie Perrotin Dominates and Books Her Return to the FWT

The Snowboard Women delivered one of the most progressive displays of the season, with riders opening new lines across the face and pushing into more exposed terrain than ever before.

However, it was Tiphanie Perrotin who stood out above the rest. Charging the face with confidence, speed, and flawless control, she linked multiple features with precision and composure, earning 85.67 points and taking the win.

Her performance not only secured victory but also confirmed her qualification for the 2027 Freeride World Tour, completing a long-awaited comeback.

Behind her, Giulia Bottazzin set the benchmark early in the category with a fast and fluid run, combining strong line choice and clean execution to score 74.67 points and take second place.

Rounding out the podium, Elly Dalton-Richard delivered a solid and composed performance to claim third place with 71.33 points.

Ski Men: Edvin Olson Takes a Crucial Victory in a Stacked Field

The Ski Men’s category delivered one of the highest levels of the day, with riders attacking technical, high-consequence lines as the snow grew heavier and more challenging through the afternoon. In the end, it was Edvin Olsson who put down the standout performance, combining a clean backflip-360-360 sequence with total control to earn 91.00 points and claim victory with what commentators called the cleanest line of the day.

France’s Arnaud Reymond who took the second place with a powerful run featuring multiple 360s and strong fluidity, scoring 87.67 points.

Close behind, Nemo Plagne impressed with a fast and aggressive line, adapting perfectly to the changing snow conditions to secure third place with 86.67 points.

Ski Women: Zanna Farrell Claims the Win in a Dramatic Finale

The Ski Women closed out the day, dealing with the most challenging snow conditions of the event as rising temperatures made the face heavier and more technical.

Mila De Le Rue laid down an early benchmark with a powerful and fluid run, taking over the lead with 81.67 points after combining strong line choice and clean execution.

Then Maria Castellví Bono raised the bar again. Skiing with speed, aggression, and some of the biggest airs in the category, she moved into first place with 90.00 points, setting up a tense finish.

But last rider Zanna Farrell delivered the defining run of the day. Charging one of the most exposed lines seen in the women’s field, to earn 91.00 points and take the win in Monterosa.

All Eyes on the Final Stop

With Monterosa in the books, the Challenger Series now heads toward its final stop in Le Sauze (France) for the 2026 Le Sauze South Line Series Challenger, where the last remaining FWT tickets will be decided.

While some riders have already secured their place, many positions remain open,— setting the stage for an all-or-nothing finale.
