FWT Launches 2026 Oceania Calendar: Junior and Qualifier Series Kick Off in the Southern Hemisphere
Australia and New Zealand to Host First Events of Region 1
Freeride World Tour (FWT) announces the official calendar for the 2026 Oceania Region competitions. With events set across Australia and New Zealand, the Junior and Qualifier Series will once again ignite the freeride spirit in the Southern Hemisphere, marking the opening chapter of the 2026 season for Region 1.
Returning to some of the most iconic and promising venues in the region, this year’s lineup promises an action-packed kickoff featuring 4 FWT Junior competitions and three FWT Qualifier events, including a pivotal Qualifier 4* at The Remarkables, Queenstown.

2026 FWT Oceania Region Calendar Highlights
AUSTRALIA
Returning for the second year, Mount Hotham in Victoria will host back-to-back events for rising stars and hungry qualifiers:
- 2026 Mount Hotham Qualifier 2* – 24–25 July 2025
- 2026 Mount Hotham Junior 2* – 26–27 July 2025
NEW ZEALAND
Junior Events – NZJFT Series
The New Zealand Junior Freeride Tour (NZJFT) features three highly anticipated stops, providing a proving ground for young talent:
- 2026 NZJFT Treble Cone Junior 3* – 29–31 August 2025
- 2026 NZJFT Mt Olympus Junior 2* – 12–14 September 2025
- 2026 NZJFT Remarkables Junior 3* – 19–21 September 2025
Qualifier Events – The North Face Frontier
In a reimagined format, the The North Face Frontier returns without the Winter Games NZ branding but continues its legacy with renewed energy and expanded scope:
- 2026 The North Face Frontier Qualifier 2* – 22–27 August 2025
- 2026 The North Face Frontier Qualifier 4* – 23–28 August 2025
Set against the dramatic terrain of The Remarkables Ski Field, these events will spotlight top freeriders seeking to earn crucial points toward advancing to the elite FWT Challenger roster.
