THE FREERID’HER EVENT THROUGH ELFY ROUILLER’S EYES
THE 2027 FREERID’HER BY PEAK PERFORMANCE IS BACK ON JANUARY 9-10 2027
The Freerid’her Series returns to Bruson for another action-packed weekend celebrating women in freeride! Set in the heart of the Swiss Alps, this all-women event brings together talented female riders for a weekend of competition, progression and shared experiences in the mountains. But for two year’s in a row U-18 winner, Elfy Rouiller, the Freerid’her Series is about much more than competing. It's about freedom, community and creating a space where women can push themselves while inspiring one another. We’ve chat with her to dive deeper into the event.

SO WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT ?
Elfy describes the event as:
2x u-18 winner of the freerid'her
It's a great opportunity to give women's freeride more visibility and, above all, to show that girls have just as much of a place in this sport. It’s a fantastic opportunity to come together, share our passion and motivate each other. It can also inspire other girls to give freeriding a try and discover the world of competition.
Indeed, during a full weekend we celebrate women in freeride ! With competitions across both the Junior and Qualifier Series, female riders will take to the mountain with one shared ambition: to have a good time together.
You can also come along to cheer on the athletes, discover the next generation of freeride champions and soak up the atmosphere in the heart of the village. Whether you’re a passionate freerider or simply curious, Bruson will be the place to be!
A DAY ON COMPETITION
For Elfy, freeriding is above all about freedom.

It’s about enjoying the mountains, choosing your own lines and experiencing unique sensations. It’s also a way to challenge yourself and step outside your comfort zone. Every day in the mountains is different, and that’s exactly what makes this sport so exciting.
But beyond the feeling of freedom and the thrill of riding, it's also the shared experience that makes the Freerid’her Series so special. When asked what stands out most during a competition day, Elfy points to the moments spent preparing together: “What stands out to me the most are the moments when we all plan our lines together. We share ideas, give each other advice and do our best to support one another, with the help of our coaches. I really love this atmosphere of being together as a group of girls, all sharing the same desire to improve and give our best. It’s these moments of sharing and supporting each other that truly make the experience so special.”

NEW THIS YEAR : RIDE TOGETHER
Alongside its usual competition format, the Freerid’her Series introduces two exciting additions this year: the Master Division and the Double Trouble Challenge, opening up new ways to compete, share the stoke and ride together. These new formats reflect the spirit of an event that goes beyond individual performance, putting connection and shared experiences at the heart of the week.
For Elfy, this sense of community is what makes women's freeride so special.

It's about sharing the experience and enjoying a great atmosphere. We get to meet girls from all different backgrounds and skill levels, but we all share the same passion and love for riding.
What inspires me most are the people I share this passion with. Whether it's my family or my friends, I love skiing with people who dare to push me beyond my limits. We learn so much from each other, and challenging ourselves together is always motivating.

MASTER DIVISION : A New Challenge for Women 30+
The Master Division welcomes women aged 30 and over who want to experience the thrill of competition without joining the official FWT season ranking. Skiers and snowboarders can team up too, so feel free to mix disciplines! Bring your sister, friend, mum or aunt, choose your crew name, and compete as a team!
Call your sister, mum, aunt, friend or another family member, then come up with a crew name, and take on the challenge together!
Each athlete’s individual result will contribute to a separate Double Trouble Challenge ranking, with no impact on the official competition results or season rankings. It’s all about celebrating, sharing experiences across generations and enjoying the freeride spirit together.
How to register your crew:
- Register individually for your respective competition divisions.
- Choose a crew name together.
- Complete the Double Trouble Challenge registration form HERE
- Only one submission per crew is needed, so make sure to include both riders’ details.
WHAT HAPPENED LAST YEAR ?
In Ski Women, New Zealand’s Charlotte Muir claimed victory, while Switzerland’s Elfy Rouiller topped the Under-18 podium. In Under-14, Maud Descoeudres led an impressive new generation of young riders, with Olivia George and France’s Victoire Ducroz rounding out the top three.
The snowboarders brought plenty of energy to Bruson in 2026! Switzerland’s Gina Sommacal carved her way to victory in Snowboard Women, followed by USA’s Zoe Vozick and Great Britain’s Melissa Brandner. In Under-18, Great Britain’s Seren Simpson claimed the top spot, while Switzerland’s Louise Favre led the Under-14 category, showcasing the next generation of female freeride talent.
Every rider has to drop in for the first time. Whether you're dreaming of your first competition or working towards your next podium, the hardest part is often simply daring to begin. Elfy's message to the next generation of female riders is clear:

I would simply tell her to go for it! You don't have to wait until you reach the perfect level or feel completely ready to give it a try. You learn by taking the leap, making mistakes and gaining experience along the way. The most important thing is to enjoy yourself and believe in yourself. Trust your abilities and make the most of every opportunity!
After all, the best line is often the one you dared to take.
Hosting the event for the fifth edition, the Freerid’Her competition continues to grow and we can’t wait to see what 2027 has to offer. See you there !
