Following 10 successful years of 3* and 4* FWT Qualifier events, the X OVER RIDE Kitzsteinhorn will host its first FWT Challenger event in 2024. Nestled in the Zell am See-Kaprun region, Kitzsteinhorn has firmly established itself as a premier freeride destination, owing to its extensive off-piste options that include expansive powder fields, breathtaking cliff drops and reliable snowfall.

The resort also has five signposted freeride routes and essential safety features – such as the Info Base for avalanche warnings and a permanently installed avalanche search field – making it an obvious choice for freeride competitions.
At 2,652 meters, the Lakarschneid has often been the chosen venue for FWT Qualifier events, boasting good snow reliability and offering ideal features for freeride competitions. This gnarly face has a plethora of steep lines combined with technical terrain, challenging the most skilled riders and providing an exhilarating experience for participants and spectators alike.
