2026 Scandinavian Big Mountain Championships Qualifier
Arranged annually since 1992, the 2026 SBMC is the 35th edition of the worlds oldest, still running, freeride competition. Hosting ski area for the event is the small resort of Riksgränsen, located above the Arctic Circle on the border between Sweden and Norway. The SBMC is not only a championship for fame and glory. It is also the grande finale of the European freeride season with a few days of unforgettable atmosphere, camaraderie and partying in the arctic light.

Riksgränsen is the world’s most northerly ski resort, located on the border between Sweden and Norway, it’s easier than you think to go there!
Travelers from Sweden: fly to Kiruna with SAS. From Kiruna go by train or bus (130 km) to Riksgränsen. You can also go by train all the way to Riksgränsen from southern Sweden.
Travelers from Norway: fly to Evenes Airport (Harstad/Narvik). You can go by bus from the airport to Narvik. From Narvik to Riksgränsen (45 km) by train, bus or car pick up.
