Welcome to The North Face Frontier, an exhilarating showcase of freeride skiing and snowboarding talent set amidst the stunning backdrop of The Remarkables Ski Field in Queenstown, New Zealand. This prestigious event, part of the Winter Games NZ, features both a 2* and 4* FWT Qualifier, making it a pivotal moment for aspiring athletes on their journey to the Freeride World Tour.

The FWT Qualifier 4* event is held in Alta Chutes at The Remarkables Ski Area, Home of Freeride. 60 ski and snowboard athletes from around the globe will be selected top compete, based on their FWT points.

The event is scheduled on the best weather day between 24th - 29th August 2024. Pre events and the After Party, held on the night of the 4* competition, will be based from Wānaka, so if you’re looking to book accomodation then have a look at options there.

Spectators are welcome to join us on Lake Alta for finish line festivities filled with BBQ, beats, and beanbags. Snowshoe/ ski touring/ hiking options available to get to the finish line or there is lift access as long as you have a valid lift pass and the ability to off-piste to get there.
